Abstract:V magistrskem delu smo obravnavali odnos do likovnih motivov na razredni stopnji osnovnih šol v evropskih šolskih sistemih.

Title:The relation to art motifs made by ten-year olds in European school systems
Abstract:This Master's thesis deals with the attitude towards art motifs at the primary level of elementary schools in European school systems. The purpose of the research was to test the attitude of pupils, boys and girls, towards the motifs shown in sets of art reproduction. We followed preferences to art motifs of pupils in various European school systems. We tested how gender and environment or country, where pupils are from, affects preference. In the individual sets shown the art concepts from the curriculum are considered. In the theoretical part the importance of an art class in an elementary school and characteristic of art in an educational process is introduced. We also mentioned targeting of art and role of pupils in art class. We introduced the planning of art and characteristics of an art assignment and its components. A special chapter is intended for the motif, where the types and suitability of motifs, which can be realized by pupils in art class at the primary level of elementary school, are introduced. Our research took place in four European countries: Slovenia, Belgium, Spain and the Netherlands. A separate chapter is intended for a brief summary of the role that art has in elementary education in foreign countries. The essential characteristics of specific art curriculums were introduced. At the conclusion we wrote about preferences to art motifs, summarized findings of current research and described art reproduction included into our research. In the empirical part we introduced our research results, which involved ten year old pupils from four European countries. With the research results we confirmed the thesis – gender is crucial, when it comes to selection of art reproduction that is introduced to pupils and that this factor has to be taken into account in art class. When dealing with differences between countries, the differences can be found. The difference is particularly seen with fantasy and animal motif, depending on the country.
