Abstract:
V diplomskem delu smo se soočili s problemom nedostopnosti ornitoloških podatkov v Sloveniji. Reševanja problema smo se lotili z raziskavo področja narave ornitoloških podatkov in tehnologij s katerimi smo lahko povečali dostopnost in uporabnost le-teh. Vzorec ornitoloških podatkov, ki smo ga pridobili od Društva za opazovanje in proučevanje ptic Slovenije vsebuje podatke o pticah in njihovih nahajališčih na območju Slovenije. Implementirali smo RESTful spletne storitve za dostop do vira in prikazali uporabo le-teh na primeru mobilne aplikacije razvite za mobilno platformo Android, ki za prikaz geografskih ornitoloških podatkov na karti Slovenije uporablja knjižnico Open Layers.

Title:
Implementation of web services to acces ornithological data in Slovenia
Abstract:
Thesis encompasses our solution to the problem of unavailability of ornithological data in Slovenia. Approach to the solution has been chosen by researching the nature of ornithological data and techonologies which could be used to increase availability and usability. Sample of ornithological data which we obtained from DOPPS-BirdLife Slovenia contains information about bird species and their locations inside Slovenia. Solution describes implementation of RESTful web services that access the data source and demonstrates their usage within a mobile application developed for a mobile platform Android, which implements Open Layers map to present geographic ornithological data.
