Pri izdelavi diplomskega dela so bile v okviru deskriptivnega pristopa uporabljene metoda klasifikacije (definicije pojmov), metoda deskripcije (opisi dejstev, procesov in pojavov) in metoda kompilacije (povzemanje in primerjanje stališč, sklepov …). Za raziskavo so bili v vzorec izbrani dobitniki medalj svetovnih prvenstev v plavanju v Rimu (2009) in v Šanghaju (2011). Merila se je frekvenca zavesljajev in število zavesljajev. Analiza finalnih nastopov in rezultati bodo predstavljeni v tabelah in grafih (excel). Meritve so bile opravljene s pomočjo video posnetkov omenjenih nastopov. Cilji naloge so bili doseženi.

Title:Comparison of swimming stroke efficiency in the high-techand textile swimsuits
Abstract:The theme of the diploma thesis is examination of the impact of high-tech swimsuits on swimming and consequently on the sports scores in swimming. The objectives of the study were (i) to examine the impact of the use of high-tech swimsuit on the swimming technique, (ii) to analyse the frequency and number of strokes for medal winners (men and women) in the 100-meter races at the World Championships in Rome (2009) and Shanghai (2011) and (iii) to make proposals how to reach optimal frequency and number of strokes. In the diploma thesis there were used classification method (definition of terms), description method (description of the facts, processes and phenomena) and the method of compilation (summarizing and comparing the observations, conclusions ...). For the study there were selected winners of medals in the Swimming world championships in Rome (2009) and in Shanghai (2011). The criteria was the rate and the number of strokes. Analysis of the finals and the results will be presented in tables and graphs (Excel). Measurements were carried out with the help of video material of earlier mentioned championships. The objectives of the diploma thesis were achieved. Usage of high-tech swimsuit has an impact on the swimming technique. An analysis of the stroke rate and number of strokes of the medal winners in the 100 meter races at the World Championships in Rome in 2009 and Shanghai in 2011 showed that swimmers in 2009 have not done fewer strokes than in Shanghai in 2011, were swimming with equal or a higher stroke rate and have achieved in average better results than in Shanghai. The proposal for the swimmers is to strive for longer and more effective strokes, despite a ban on high-tech swimsuits.
Keywords:swimming, high-tech swimsuit, stroke rate, stroke count.
