Title:SODOBNI PRISTOPI OBRAVNAVE OSEB Z DOWNOVIM SINDROMOM

Abstract:POVZETEK Teoretična izhodišča. V diplomskem delu smo predstavili Downov sindrom, sodobne pristope obravnav oseb z Downovim sindromom in zdravstveno obravnavo otroka z Downovim sindromom. Opisali smo, kaj je Downov sindrom, zakaj nastane in njegove značilnosti. Predstavili smo sodobne procese obravnav, v katere so vključene osebe z Downovim sindromom, ki bivajo v Zavodu za usposabljanje, delo in varstvo dr. Marijana Borštnarja v Dornavi. Raziskovalna metodologija. Diplomsko delo temelji na uporabi deskriptivne metode dela. V raziskavi je bila uporabljena kvalitativna metodologija. S primarnimi in sekundarnimi viri (z udeležbo na delovni enoti, kjer biva uporabnica, z intervjujem zaposlenih na delovni enoti in empiričnih evidencah, zbranih v dosjejih o primeru) smo izvedli študijo primera. Rezultati. Ugotovili smo, da 14 osnovnih življenjskih aktivnosti po Virginii Henderson zagotavlja kakovostno in kontinuirano zdravstveno nego deklice z Downovim sindromom. Sodobni pristopi obravnav in programov v Zavodu za usposabljanje, delo in varstvo dr. Marijana Borštnarja Dornava dekličino življenje približajo življenju, ki ga živijo ljudje, ki teh motenj nimajo. Diskusija in zaključek. Medicinska sestra, ki pri osebah z Downovim sindromom izvaja zdravstveno nego, mora dobro poznati značilnosti tega sindroma in individualne potrebe posameznika. Potrebnega je veliko strokovnega znanja, praktičnih izkušenj, potrpežljivosti, opazovanja in empatije ter sprotnega prilagajanja individualnega načrta potrebam posameznika.

Title:MODERN APPROACHES TO THE TREATMENT OF PERSONS WITH DOWN SYNDROME
Abstract:ABSTRACT Theoretical grounds. This diploma paper introduces Down syndrome, contemporary approach on treatment of people with Down syndrome and medical treatment of child with Down syndrome. We described what Down syndrome is, why it occurs and its nature. We introduced contemporary approach on treatment of people with Down syndrome who live in ZUDV Dornava. Research methodology. Diploma paper is based on application of descriptive research. Qualitative methodology was used in this research. We carried out case study with primary and secondary sources (with participation in working unit in which the user lives, with interviewing personnel of working unit and with empirical register, gathered in the case study files). Results. We discovered that 14 basic life activities according to Virginia Henderson provide qualitative and continued medical treatment of girl with Down syndrome. Contemporary approach on treatment and programmes in ZUDV Dornava allow the girl to live similar to those who do not have that kind of disorders. Discussion and conclusion. Nurse that provides medical care for people with Down syndrome, has to know the nature of this syndrome and needs for each individual. It takes a lot of professional knowledge, practical experiences, patience, observation and empathy and continuous adjustment to individual plan for person’s needs.
