Abstract:	V našem projektu smo želeli izpostaviti pomen spiritualnosti in arhitekture kot spominskega prostora. Na Vojašniški ulici, v strogem centru mesta Maribor, na lokaciji katera je nekoč bila del Žičke kartuzije, smo ustvarili spominski prostor, kateri predstavlja idejo o sodobnem pokopališču, katero je digitalizirano in obiskovalec ima priložnost dobiti vse informacije katere je pokojnik želel pustit za sabo. Glede na to da živimo v svetu tehnologije, tudi prostore kateri so povezani z umiranjem, moramo posodobiti in ne gledati na smrt kot na tabu, ampak kot na del življenskega cikla sodobne družbe. V projektu smo ustvarili prostore kateri z arhitekturnimi elementi, kot so svetloba in material, ponujajo obiskovalcu idealen prostor za imaginacijo in spomin. Takšen projekt, bo prenehal ignoriranje prostorov za spomin in shranjevanje posmrtnih ostankov od strani sodobne arhitekture. Če želimo kot družba napredovati, potrebno je da vsi elementi našega življenja hkrati napredujejo in se posodobljajo, tako pa tudi prostori za spomin.

Title:	Contemporary cemetery on Vojašniška street
Abstract:	In our project we wanted to present the importance of spirituality and architecture in sence of memorial spaces. On Vojašniška street, in the core center of Maribor, at the location which had once been a part of Žička kartuzija, we have created memorial space, which is to represent the idea of contemporary cemetery, which is digitalised and the visitord has the opportunity to gain al the information which decendents had wanted to show after his/her lifetime. Considering that we live in technological world, we are bound to update also the memorial spaces, and not to look at those as a taboo, but as the part of the life cycle of the society. In our project we have created different spaces which with architectural elements, materials and lights, offer the visitor ideal space for imagination and recalling memories. A project like this one, will stop the ignoring of memorial spaces, from the side of architecture. If we want to improve as a society, all the elements of our lives need to improve side by side, with that also memorial spaces.
