Abstract:
V magistrski nalogi obravnavamo proces prenosa podatkov preko različnih virtualnih zasebnih omrežjih, pri čemer se osredotočamo na delovanje omrežja. Virtualna zasebna omrežja omogočajo številne prednosti od katerih je najpomembnejša varnost. Izboljšana varnost pa s seboj prinaša tudi nekatere pomanjkljivosti, od katerih je eden vpliv na delovanje omrežja. S pomočjo metode eksperimenta določamo, kako različni VPN-izdelki vplivajo na zmogljivost omrežja in nato naredimo njihovo primerjavo. Analize so pokazale, da uporaba VPN-povezav predstavlja signifikanten vpliv in tudi zmanjša omrežne zmogljivosti.

IMPACT OF VPN-CONNECTIONS ON NETWORK PERFORMANCE
Abstract:
In this master thesis, we deal with the process of data transmission through a variety of virtual private networks with focus on network performance. Virtual private networks allow for many advantages of which the most important is security. Improved security entails some disadvantages, one of which is the impact on network performance. Using the experiment method, we determine how the various VPN products impact the network performance and then we make a comparison between them. Analyses have shown that the use of VPN connections represents siginificant impact and also reduces network performance.
