Title:PERSONALIZED MEDICINE - PERSONAL APPROACH
Abstract:The thesis presents the concept and scope of personalized medicine, which is very topical in Slovenia, as it was on the subject of quite a bit of discussions and is increasingly present on our soil. The concept of personalized medicine is based on the recognition that patients despite the same diagnosis and the same medical treatment only react differently to treatment. On the other hand, the personalization of medicine can also be understood as the correlation between doctors and patients on a more personal level. The thesis is based primarily on personalized medicine as medicine that takes account of the diagnosis, treatment, examination and other medical measures individual's genetic code. Treatment can be much more effective for this purpose that take into account the characteristics of each individual, since the genetic code from one individual to another is different, though, that raises different legal and ethical dilemmas. Within the writing of the thesis it also examines the sources of law which are directly or indirectly related to the field of personalized medicine, both at national and international level. The rapid development of science in the field of medicine, which are constantly emerging new insights and findings, makes it difficult for the law to follow, and also it opens a number of ethical questions. In the future this area will definitely need more normative.
