Abstract:
Pesnik in prevajalec Jože Udovič (1912-1986) je v svojih esejih o poeziji poudarjal spremenjeno vlogo metafor v moderni poeziji. Članek obravnava njegove poglede na moderno podobje, primerja različne definicije absolutnih in drznih metafor, v sklepnem delu pa z analizo izbranih metafor iz Udovičeve zbirke Ogledalo sanj pokaže, v čem je njihova drznost.

Abstract:
In his essay on poetry, the poet and translator Jože Udovič (1912-1986) emphasized the changed role of metaphors in modern poetry. This article discusses his views on modern imagery, compares various definitions of absolute metaphors and conceits (Germ. kühne Metaphern), and concludes by analyzing selected metaphors from Udovič's collection Ogledalo sanj (The Mirror of Dreams) and showing where their conceitedness actually lies.
