Abstract:Uredba EMIR spreminja način poslovanja z izvedenimi finančnimi instrumenti OTC, saj vzpostavlja zahteve s širšimi posledicami za celoten trg izvedenih finančnih instrumentov OTC, tržne infrastrukture in udeležence na teh trgih ter pristojnosti in odgovornosti javnih oblasti.

Title:Analysis of the necessary adaptations of Slovenian commercial banks in accordance with the requirements of the EMIR Regulation
Abstract:EMIR Regulation changes the method of operation with OTC derivatives because it establishes requirements with broader consequences for the entire market of OTC derivatives, the market infrastructure and participants in these markets as well as jurisdictions and responsibilities of public authorities. In accordance with this, the changes will also affect Slovenian commercial banks. The purpose of the master thesis is to find out the changes in the business of Slovenian commercial banks which will be the result of adaptations to the requirements of EMIR Regulation. The master thesis consists of two parts, the theoretical and empirical part. The theoretical part present the basic requirements of EMIR Regulation towards market infrastructures, market participants and jurisdictions as well as the responsibilities of public authorities; the empirical part first present the analysis of necessary adaptations of Slovenian commercial banks regarding adaptations to EMIR Regulation. The emphasis of the empirical part is on the survey which was sent to all commercial banks registered in Slovenia, which provided important information about the adaptations of Slovenian commercial banks to the requirements of EMIR Regulation.
