Abstract:V diplomski nalogi predstavljamo zanemarjanje otrok ter načine odkrivanja zanemarjanja. Osnovni delitvi zanemarjanja sta čustveno in fizično zanemarjanje.

Title:Detection of child neglect in Murska Sobota
Abstract:In this thesis we present child neglect and ways of detecting neglect. Neglect of children is one of the forms of violence. Neglecting a child means that parents or child’s guardians cease caring for the child. Children are most often neglected by people they know and who are close to those children. Neglect, as a separate issue, is given the least attention in the materials. Also in practice, it is rarely treated as a separate problem; most often it is intertwined with other forms of violence. Neglect is divided into two basic categories: emotional and physical neglect. All forms of neglect leave traces on a child that can not be erased. Neglect may occur in different environments and organizations: family, school, youth center, kindergarten and others. Child neglect can be detected in different ways: center for social work, school, health care institution, the police, neighbors, anonymous reports, etc. In the process of discovering neglect the cooperation between different institutions is important. Institutions important for detection of neglect are center for social work, the police, educational system, health care system and the prosecution. In cases of suspected neglect all the institutions are obliged to intervene and try to find the best solution for the child at risk. Also, anyone who knows that violence is being committed against a child must notify the center for social work, police or the prosecution. At the beginning of the thesis we present types of domestic violence. We continue with a detailed presentation of neglect and detection of child neglect.
