Abstract:Ivan Šusteršič in Henrik Tuma, oba po izobrazbi pravnika, sta vsak po svoje zaznamovala slovensko politiko v zadnjem obdobja obstoja Avstro-Ogrske monarhije in ob prehodu v nov državni okvir.

Title:Henrik Tuma and Ivan Šusteršič: comparative analysis of confederalist concepts
Abstract:Ivan Šusteršič and Henrik Tuma, who were both jurists, were significant for the Slovenian politics in their time, each of them in their own way, in the last part of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy existence and in transition to the new state frame. Šusteršič, who was the leader of the Slovenian Catholic Party, a state assembly member of parliament and Carniola state governor, was loyal to Hapsburg Monarchy until the end. His concept of the monarchy transformation, which was presented to the heir to the thrown Franz Ferdinand in 1909, suggested a union of all south Slavic nations of the Monarchy in the third state law body. Just before the overthrow, he published the plan for establishment of the independent Danube states’ union, which was close to the concept of Henrik Tuma. The latter was a social democrat and stood up for keeping the united economy market and establishment of a complete national autonomy. His battle for the rights of the Slovenian nation also influenced his judicial and attorney's career. The end of the First World War caused disintegration of the former monarchy and division of the Slovenian nation. Therefore, the concepts of both Slovenian politicians were not realized.
