Title:IMPLEMENTATION OF INTERNATIONAL ROAD TRANSPORT IN PRACTICE
Abstract:Nowadays road transport is taken for granted, even though most people use it daily, they are not aware that in the background of road transport there are numerous processes, effects and factors that are vital for the performance and existence of the entire road transport. Despite the current state of the market and the effect of extensive competition some companies or individual goods transport operators fight to remain in the market, while others face a completely opposite direction. Due to personal interests (major influence, branch expansion, desire for profit) they have higher expectations and pressure their employees, both those working in offices and those on the road. It is expected that a driver of a goods vehicle on international route finishes the predicted route in one week’s time (most often under the condition that the entire route has been set beforehand, so that inconvenient delays on road would not occur), because the following week, which starts with the first working day – Monday, a new route is already set for the driver. The most important factor for drivers in international road transport is time. The drivers continuously battle with time and the lack of it, tackling questions like »Will I reach the customer in time?«, »Will I make it home in time?«. Considering a time of crisis we are in and the tragic stories told by an increasing number of drivers, questions like »What will the consequences of me not making it back home in time be?« are also being raised. Beside time, other obstacles that drivers have to deal with daily when on the road include unpredictable situations, living conditions, various problems and dangers etc.
