Abstract:	Glavni namen našega diplomskega dela je raziskati prednosti in slabosti družinskih podjetij nasploh in v družinskem podjetju Jelša d.d. Prepoznavanje njihovih prednosti kot tudi slabosti je ključnega pomena, da lahko prednosti izkoristijo za napredek podjetja, slabosti pa minimizirajo ali odpravijo in se tako izognejo pastem, ki prežijo na družinska podjetja. V družinskemu podjetju Jelša d.d. želimo vzpodbuditi razmišljanje o tem, na katerih področjih je njihovo družinsko podjetje drugačno od ostalih, ki niso družinska in kaj so njihove temeljne značilnosti ter na kakšen način jim lahko pomagajo izboljšati poslovanje. Družinska podjetja najbolj zaznamuje vpliv družine na poslovanje oziroma prepletanje družinskega sistema s poslovnim. V družinska podjetja ustanovitelji vlagajo ogromno odrekanja, dela in truda, čutijo se osebno odgovorne za podjetje, dolgoročne cilje postavljajo pred zaslužek, in se vedejo družbeno odgovorno, zato imajo večje možnosti za preživetje in dolgoročni uspeh. Tipične nevarnost, ki se največkrat pojavljajo v teh podjetjih pa so nezadostno planiranje nasledstva, prevelika stopnja centralizacije, nepotizem in izogibanje spremembam.

Title:	Strengths and Weaknesses of Family Business on the Basis of Company from Practice
Abstract:	The main purpose of our thesis is to analyse the strengths and weaknesses of family businesses as such and of the family business Jelša d.d. The identification of their strengths as well as weaknesses is of key importance in order to exploit the advantages and develop further and to minimize or resolve the weaknesses and thus avoid the traps, waiting for family businesses. In the family business Jelša d.d., we want to encourage thinking about the fields, where their family business is different from other non-family businesses, which are their basic characteristics and how they can help them to improve their business operations. Family businesses are mostly characterized by the family influence on business operations or intertwining of the private and business life. The founders of family businesses often invest all of their effort and work and sacrifice a lot. They feel personally responsible for the company; they put long-term goals before the profit and behave socially responsible; therefore they have greater opportunities for survival and long-term success. Typical threats, which mostly occur in such companies, are insufficient planning of the succession, excessive level of centralization, nepotism and avoiding of changes.
