Abstract:Izhodišča: V magistrskem delu smo želeli raziskati stopnjo altruizma in posledično pripravljenost nudenja pomoči sočloveku med študenti fakultet Univerze v Mariboru. V teoretičnem delu naloge smo predstavili altruizem kot pojem, njegov etični, filozofski, biološki in humanistični pomen. V raziskovalnem delu naloge smo anketirali 836 študentov Univerze v Mariboru in ugotovili, njihov odnos do altruizma. Metode dela: Za izvedbo ankete smo uporabili anketni vprašalnik zaprtega tipa, ki je skupno vseboval 53 vprašanj. Anketirane študente smo razdelili v dve skupini. Prvo skupino so predstavljali študentje zdravstvenih fakultet, drugo pa študentje ostalih fakultet Univerze v Mariboru. Izvedli smo primerjavo odgovorov obeh anketiranih skupin študentov.

Abstract:Introduction: In this master thesis, we wanted to investigate the degree of altruism and willingness to help to a fellow human, among students of University of Maribor. In the theoretical part we presented altruism as a concept, its ethical, philosophical, biological and humanistic value. In the research part of thesis we interviewed the 836students of the University of Maribor, to establish their attitude to altruism. Methodology: For the survey we used a questionnaire of closed type, for a total of 53 questions. Surveyed students were divided into two groups. The first group represents the students of medical faculty’s, the second group representsothers faculties at the University of Maribor. We carried out a comparison of the responses of the two groups of students surveyed. Results: The questionnaire proved that surveyed students participate in the charitable organizations, providing a variety of AID, participate in humanitarian action, etc. Comparing the responses of the surveyed medical students and non-medical students of the University of Maribor showed a statistically significant difference in the attitude of altruism, which was higher among students of medical schools.
