Title:THE FORMATION OF THE MODEL OF WEB PORTAL FOR INTERNATIONAL TRANSPORT AND THE COMPARISON WITH THE EXISTENT WEB PORTALS
Abstract:The Master’s thesis is the result of several years of practical experience in the implementation and operation of transport services and the detected needs for a new transport service web portal. On one hand, the thesis discusses issues related to and characteristics of commissioning transport services of manufacturing companies, and on the other hand, the reactions of transport service operators. Special attention is paid to the development of a new IT system that would, on the one hand, facilitate the commissioning of transport services and thus contribute to optimised operations of companies but also, on the other hand, fast track all procedures required for a complete and comprehensive transport service operation and control process. For this purpose, the thesis also includes an analysis of company needs, operating conditions and existing commissioning procedures and their advantages and disadvantages. Based on theoretical findings and hitherto experience in the use of existing web portals, the thesis has also developed and illustrated a new web portal model that would facilitate matching between transport service supply and demand as quickly as possible as well as the monitoring and control of transport services. The thesis illustrates how theory and practice can simply, but most of all efficiently, come together and work or cooperate hand in hand.
