Title:Comparative Assessment of Claims Recovery in Slovenia, Germany and Croatia
Abstract:Companies of all countries are involved in the receivables collection. The financial indiscipline is increasing since the beginning of the economic crisis and until the year 2013, when the situation started to improve. Companies have several possibilities to avoid the receivables collection. First, they need to perform the credit check of the new business partner and second, they should obtain their claims’ insurance. If everything would be properly performed accordingly, the financial indiscipline could be totally avoided. When over dues occur it is important to act as soon as possible. A company needs to supervise receivables regularly and act immediately when the over dues occur. The companies also have several possibilities for receivables collection. All of them are used in all of the 3 countries that are subject of this research. The only difference among them is the speed of acting in case of over dues and of course the different mind-set of businessmen. Our neighbours on the North put a lot of efforts to maintain their good name and that is why they don’t have a lot of over dues without a proper reason. In Slovenia this is almost everyday practice.
