Abstract:	Pravice intelektualne lastnine so za večino podjetij, ki jih posedujejo, zelo pomembne za njihovo uspešno delovanje. To je izrazito vidno v farmacevtski industriji in posledično v šestih družbah, ki sem jih, na podlagi njihovih letnih poročil, preučeval v svoji magistrski nalogi. Zanimalo me je, kako opazovane organizacije obvladujejo tveganja, ki nastajajo v povezavi s pravicami intelektualne lastnine, predvsem s področja patentov in blagovnih znamk. Preučevane organizacije so se v večini zavedale pomembnosti varovanja in primernega zavarovanja svojih intelektualnih pravic, posebej pa tudi posledic, ki lahko nastanejo, če se te pravice kršijo drugim subjektom. Najučinkovitejši način, kako se primerno odzvati na tveganja, ki lahko nastanejo v povezavi s kršenjem pravic intelektualne lastnine, ki so posledica pravnih sporov, so rezervacije za morebitne odškodninske tožbe. Pri preučevanje letnih poročil vsake izmed organizacij sem ugotovil, da ima večina organizacij tako vrsto rezervacij sklenjeno, čeprav v letnih poročilih, razen družbe Krka, ni dosti koristnih informacij o tem področju.

Title:	CONTROLLING RISKS IN RELATION TO RIGHTS OF INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
Abstract:	For the majority of companies, their intellectual property rights are an important part of their successful operations. This can be distinctly seen in pharmaceutical industry and, consequently, in six companies that I analyzed in my master`s thesis where I focused on the annual reports of these companies. I was interested in how the observed organizations manage risks that occur in relation to these intellectual property rights, especially in the field of patents and trademarks. For the most part, the studied organizations were aware of the importance of protecting and properly insuring their intellectual rights. Furthermore, they were aware of the consequences that can arise if intellectual property rights of other subjects are violated. Violations of intellectual property rights are a consequence of legal disputes and the most successful way to react appropriately to risks that may arise if these rights are violated, is having a reservation of rights for possible indemnity suits. While analyzing annual reports of each organization, I have discovered that the majority of them have such reservations included. However, with the exception of annual reports of Krka, d. d., there is not much useful information on this topic in other annual reports.
