Title:PAYMENT FOR WORK AND PROTECTION OF WORKERS, IF PAYMENT NOT RECEIVED: COMPARISON BETWEEN SLOVENIA, AUSTRIA AND SERBIA
Abstract:Salary of an employee mostly presents the main source of survival for the employee and also his family. There is a big problem in Slovenia that more and more workers get minimal salary, which does not enable the survival anymore. Workers pay a considerably larger sum of contributions than employers do. There are no differences between the workers who work in less suitable working time, Sundays, holidays, night shifts, etc. In Slovenia, most of employees get for this minimal salary, which is defined by the law. There could be even bigger problem that an employee does not get payment or salary for his fair work. People are forced to get help then at Red Cross and Karitas to survive with his family through a month. I will research and compare how it is organized in Slovenia, Austria, and Serbia when it comes to the area of salaries, how a salary is formed, what the contributions of employees and employers are, taxation of salaries, and a minimal wage. I will also find the answer what to do if you do not get a salary. I have come to the conclusion that contributions for social security, which are paid by employees from their salaries in Slovenia are considerably higher than in other compared states. The contributions of employers that they pay from their employees' salaries (16.10%) in comparison to Serbia (17.10%) and Austria (21.63%) is much lower. If the employers paid more than the employees in Slovenia, the employees would get higher nett salaries.
