Abstract:V diplomskem delu je predstavljena kulturna zgodovina Male Nedelje in bližnje okolice. Kulturnozgodovinski oris obravnavnih krajev se začne z njihovimi prvimi omembami v pisnih virih. Sledi predstavitev sakralnih objektov, najprej malonedeljske cerkve, nato še kapel, križev in znamenj. Obravnavi tega zgodovinskega dogodka sledi predstavitev petih pomembnih osebnosti, ki so s svojim življenjskim delom pustile velik pečat v obravnavanih krajih. Kot pomembni deli kulturne dediščine so predstavljeni še vaški grbi, običaji, šege in navade. Kulturnozgodovinski oris Male Nedelje in bližnje okolice se zaključi s predstavitvijo preteklega in sedanjega društvenega življenja v obravnavanih krajih.

Title:CULTURE-HISTORICAL OUTLINE OF MALA NEDELJA AND SURROUNDING AREA
Abstract:The thesis presents the cultural history of Mala Nedelja and surrounding area. The culture-historical outline of the examined places begins with the first references of Mala Nedelja in written sources. Following is a presentation of sacred architecture, firstly of the Church of Mala Nedelja, then chapels, crosses and wayside shrines. Religious buildings as well as priests are also connected with the beginnings of education in Mala Nedelja. The further development of education is presented in full in continuation. The inhabitants of Mala Nedelja with their national awareness significantly marked the nineteenth century, one of the most important periods in Slovenian history. In this patriotic spirit, “bèseda” was organised, the predecessor of the first Ljutomer camp. A large gathering under the open sky due to its importance both for Mala Nedelja, as well as the Slovenian nation in general, is at the very centre of the thesis. Following the examination of this historic event is a presentation of five major personalities, who have left their mark and their life’s work in the depicted places. As important parts of cultural heritage village crests, customs and habits are also presented. The culture-historical outline of Mala Nedelja and surrounding area ends with a presentation of past and present social life at the examined places.
Keywords:Mala Nedelja, the parish of Mala Nedelja, Anton Krempl, predecessor of Ljutomer camp, village crests
