Title:OPTIMIZING THE LENGTH OF PRODUCTION SERIES IN HIDRIA ROTOMATIKA
Abstract:Due to the recent prevailing economic conditions in the market, companies are constantly forced to seek for solutions to improve their business and production processes in order to maintain their competitiveness and viability. Strained market situation and customer requirements have strong influence on organization of production processes. Due to the tendency to minimize stocks and to the shortest possible delivery times production series have become shorter, and interval time between sets smaller. These facts raise questions about the economic viability of certain production series as every change can cause certain costs. The diploma thesis discusses the comparison between stock costs and costs of one change in the series. The data collected and theoretical models serve as a basis to determine the calculation of minimum length of the series covering all costs incurred, and re-calculation of optimal quantity. We applied the EOQ model on the selected project in the company Hidria Rotomatika, d. o. o. to minimize the overall costs. The diploma thesis concludes with the presentation of the possibility for applying the application in the information system. This application might determine the minimum length of production series and potential savings during the production with minimum production quantity. Consequently, it could lead to better competitiveness and financial operations of the company.
