Abstract:V diplomskem delu so predstavljene različne sodobne teorije o pridobivanju tujega jezika v predšolskem obdobju v povezavi s teorijo medkulturne komunikacije, ki je način sporazumevanja v sodobni globalni družbi, in s katero se soočajo otroci ter starši že v predšolskem obdobju otrokovega razvoja. Teoretični del diplomske naloge zajema osnove govornega razvoja in dejavnike, v povezavi s kognitivnimi prevodoslovnimi teorijami.. V osrednjem delu se osredotočamo na načine usvajanja različnih vrst jezika in na zgodnje učenje tujega jezika, na njegov pomen, dejavnike in cilje. Nato so predstavljeni pristopi k učenju tujega jezika v predšolskem obdobju in smernice za kakovostno izvedbo poučevanja tujega jezika, kot uvod v medkulturno komunikacijo, v predšolskem obdobju. V nadaljevanju predstavljamo aktivnosti in sredstva za učenje poslušanja in govora tujega jezika. V drugem delu teoretičnega dela pa se osredotočamo na medkulturno vzgojo in izobraževanje, medkulturni dialog kot tudi medkulturno sporazumevanje pri pouku tujega jezika. V empiričnem delu diplomske naloge smo želeli pridobiti podatke o oceni staršev o vplivu zgodnjega učenja tujega jezika na spodbujanje medkulturne komunikacije. S pomočjo anketnega vprašalnika smo prišli do odgovorov glede zastavljenih ciljev in hipotez. V raziskavi so sodelovali starši otrok treh vrtcev iz Maribora, ki svojim malčkom v sklopu kurikula nudijo učne urice tujega jezika. Raziskava je pokazala, da se večini staršev zgodnje učenje tujih jezikov zdi primerno in pomembno, saj v tem vidijo prednosti za kasnejše učenje tujega jezika v šoli in s tem seveda tudi prednost za vse življenje, v odnosu do jezikov in drugih kultur.

Title:THE IMPACT OF LEARNING O FOREIGN LANGUAGE ON ENCOURAGING INTERCULTURAL COMMUNICATION IN PRESCHOOL CHILDREN`S EDUCATION, FROM THE PARENTS PERSPECTIVE
Abstract:In this diploma thesis the different contemporary theories about the acquisition of foreign languages in the preschool period are presented in relation to the theory in intercultural communication, which is the modern means of communication in the contemporary global society and with which the children and parents are confronted with as early as in the preschool period of a child's development. The theoretical part of the diploma thesis encompasses the basics of language development and the factors in connection to the cognitive translation theories. In the central part we focus on the methods of acquisition of different languages and on the early learning of a foreign language, on its importance, factors and goals. Next we present the approaches to learning a foreign language in the preschool period and the guidelines for quality performance in foreign language teaching as an introduction to intercultural communication in the preschool period. Then we present the activities and methods of learning to listen and to speak a foreign language. In the second part of the theoretical part we focus on intercultural upbringing and education, intercultural dialogue as well as the intercultural communication in foreign language classes. In the empirical part of the diploma thesis we wish to acquire data about the parents’ assessment of the influence of early foreign language learning on encouraging intercultural communication. With the help of a survey questionnaire we got the answers pertaining the set goals and hypotheses. In the survey children’s parents from three different kindergartens in Maribor took part, who enrol their toddlers in foreign language classes as part of the curriculum. The survey shows that the majority of the parents think that early foreign language learning is appropriate and important, because they see the advantages of early learning for the later learning of foreign languages in school and with it, of course, also the advantage for their whole life in relation to languages and other cultures.
