Abstract:	V današnjem času si brez interneta ne moremo več predstavljati vsakdanjega življenja, vendar smo tudi vse pogosteje priča nasilju v medijih, otroški pornografiji in odvisnosti od interneta, ki je postal novodobna bolezen. Prav v odvisnosti so otroci in mladostniki najbolj ranljivi. Priznati moramo, da je internet začel spreminjati smisel dela. Zavedati se moramo, da je internet zelo močna tehnologija, ki je v veliki meri odvisna od »človeškega« faktorja in tako kot vpliva na nas je tudi odvisna od nas. Pomembno vlogo pri mladih imajo njihovi starši in institucije, ki naj bi poskrbele za primerno vzgojo in izobraževanje ter naučile mladostnike varno uporabljati internet. Na Hrvaškem je potrebno še veliko dela med starši, mladimi, šolo in policijo, saj otroci in mladostniki niso zaščiteni pred internetnimi napadi. Mladi so izgubili varnost doma zaradi nevarnosti in pasti interneta, ki se žal dogajajo. Vendar je načeloma naloga interneta in moderne tehnologije olajšati življenje posameznikov. S pravo vzgojo in z izobraževanjem mladih ter pravilno uporabo interneta se lahko naredi veliko koristnega. V empiričnem delu diplomske naloge so v obliki tabel in opisa prikazani rezultati raziskave, ki so bili pridobljeni z metodo anketiranja. Ugotovili smo, da mladostniki vse več časa porabijo za internet, da je katerokoli nasilje na internetu nesprejemljivo in da ga je potrebno kaznovati. Še vedno so starši tisti, točneje družina, kjer mladostniki iščejo oporo in zaščito. Dobili smo tudi rezultate, ki kažejo na to, da so starši na Hrvaškem v veliki meri seznanjeni s tem, kaj njihovi mladostniki počnejo na internetu.

Title:	YOUTH AND THE INTERNET IN CROATIA
Abstract:	Nowadays, we can no longer imagine a normal life without the Internet, but we are also increasingly witnessing violence in the media, child pornography and Internet addiction, which has become a new age disease. When we talk about addiction, children and youth are the most vulnerable. We must recognize that the Internet began to change the meaning of work. We must be aware that the Internet is a very powerful technology that is largely dependent on the "human" factor and as it affects on us, it also depends on us. An important role in youth have their parents and institutions that should ensure appropriate education for the media and teach youth how to safely use the Internet. Croatia still has a lot of work between parents, youth, the school and the police to be able to say that children and youth are protected against Internet attacks. The youth have lost the safety of their home because of dangers and pitfalls of the Internet, which can occur and are unfortunately happening. But generally the task of the Internet and modern technology is to facilitate the lives of individuals and with the right education of youth and the proper use of the Internet we can do much good for everybody. In the empirical part of the thesis the survey results are shown in the form of tables and description, which were obtained by the method of interview. We discovered how young people spent more time on the Internet, that any kind of violence on the Internet is unacceptable and needs to be punished. Still, parents, more precisely the family are the ones where youth look for support and protection. Also, we got the results which show that parents in Croatia are largely familiar with what their youngsters do on the Internet.
