Abstract:Vzgojno-izobraževalni sistem, katerega temeljni koncepti izhajajo iz 19. in iz začetkov 20. stoletja, opravlja nalogo posredovanja družbenega znanja mlajšim generacijam. V raziskavi bomo opisali današnji šolski sistem in predstavili njegove prednosti in slabosti. V raziskavi bomo posebno pozornost posvetili glasbi v današnjem šolskem sistemu in alternativnim oblikam glasbene vzgoje.

Title:ALTERNATIVE FORMS OF EDUCATION IN OUR COUNTRY AND ABROAD WITH THE FOCUS ON MUSICAL EDUCATION
Abstract:The basic concepts of the education and training system originate in the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century. Its purpose is to mediate social knowledge to the younger generations. But today there are perpetual changes and the education and training system needs to adjust to this fact. School should teach the children about the changes in the politics, engineering, economy and relationships; it should also prepare them for changes in the world. In the research we will describe today’s school system and present its advantages and disadvantages. We will try to find out where and how we could improve the system and we will also present the existing alternative educational systems, which try to solve these problems. State schools in Slovenia and in the world are developing alternative education and training concepts. Besides knowledge, schools of the future also consider the mental and spiritual differences of children and their individual needs. Those concepts are already successfully implemented in Waldorf schools, Montessori schools, Shchetininschool, Greenschool, Eliza School and others. The research will focus on music in today’s education system and on alternative forms of music education. Music is an important element of a child’s development in the psychomotor, cognitive and affective fields. It is therefore necessary to describe and present the advantages, disadvantages and changes in music education. In the past, many changes have been seen regarding the improvement of the education and training system in schools and in general, and many more are indicated for the future.
