Abstract:V diplomskem delu je narejena primerjava učnega načrta montessori osnovne šole in javne osnovne šole za drugo triado za predmet angleščina. S primerjavo didaktičnih priporočil so bile ugotovljene najbistvenejše razlike.

Title:Comparison of Public and Montessori Primary School according to Curriculum for English Language for the Second Grade
Abstract:In the graduation thesis there is the comparison between the curriculum of Montessori primary school and public primary school for the second grade of English language. The comparison was made in four areas; the definition of the Subject, general aims, didactic recommendations and minimum standards. Each of the school compared has its own pedagogical approach that aims to educate independent individuals. In defining the subject English there are differences in the number of hours of English per class as well as the period of inclusion of the Subject into the curriculum. There are no other important differences between the curriculums. Both programs emphasize English as an important school subject, because it is a language spoken all over the world and the knowledge of English is not only desirable but almost obligatory. The comparison of the general aims proved differences only in their layout. There are no other differences between the compared curriculums on this area. We found the most significant differences by comparing didactic recommendations. These are due to differences in the concept of schools and their ways and methods of teaching. The Montessori School is strict in their philosophy, while public primary school is more flexible. The comparison of minimum standards showed some differences, mostly in the number of goals and exact instructions to the teacher found in the public primary school curriculum. Minimum standards for Montessori primary school are very general and briefly described. This is due to the fact that each school in Slovenia must achieve the standards and aims set by the state.
