Abstract:	Diplomska naloga je sestavljena iz teoretičnega in empiričnega dela. V teoretičnem delu je predstavljena pravna ureditev dolžnosti preživljanja staršev, oblike preživljanja staršev ter predstavitev preživljanje starša z namestitvijo v institucionalno varstvo. V empiričnem delu so predstavljeni cilji in namen ter postavljene teze raziskave, ki je bila opravljena v domovih za starejše občane v Zahodni Štajerski in Koroški regiji. Dolžnost preživljanja otrok do svojih staršev ureja Zakon o zakonski zvezi in družinskih razmerjih. Prednost pred preživljanjem svojih staršev ima dolžnost do preživljanja svojih potomcev in zakonca. Civilnopravna zakonodaja ureja različne možnosti preživljanja staršev. Izbira načina preživljanja je odvisna od številnih dejavnikov. Osnovo predstavlja družina, kot temeljna celica družbe, odnosi znotraj nje in tudi družbeno politična naravnanost. Demografske spremembe, v smislu staranja prebivalstva, ki smo jim priča v zadnjih deset letih, predstavljajo tudi dejavnik za izbiro načina preživljanja svojega starša. Preživljanje starša v domačem okolju je lahko pogojena s pogodbenimi oblikami preživljanja, lahko pa temelji na dobrih medsebojnih odnosih, načelu vzajemnosti in solidarnosti. Pomanjkanje časa, odsotnost od doma in nezmožnost skrbi za svoje ostarele in obolele starše, je pogosto najpogostejši vzrok, da otroci izberejo način preživljanja z namestitvijo starša v institucijo. Socialnovarstvena zakonodaja s svojimi finančnimi transferji izboljšuje in povečuje možnost koriščenja različnih oblik socialnovarstvenih storitev, vendar so otroci ob svoji dolžnosti preživljanja lahko pogosto pahnjeni na prag revščine. Med različnimi oblikami preživljanja svojega starša, je preživljanje starša z namestitvijo v institucijo kakovostna in varna izbira preživljanja. Številne nadzorne institucije, ki izvajajo nadzor nad delom v domovih za starejše občane, predstavljajo določeno stopnjo varne oskrbe ostarelega in obolelega starša.

Title:	The maintenance of the parent
Abstract:	The thesis consists of theoretical and empirical work. The theoretical part presents the legal regulation of maintenance obligation of parents, livelihoods parents and parents spend a presentation by installing in institutional care. In the empirical part presents the objectives and purposes set thesis research, which was carried out in homes for the elderly in Western Styria (Zahodni Štajerski) and Carinthia region (Koroški regiji). Maintenance obligation of children to their parents is governed by the law Marriage and Family Relations. Precedence over the livelihood of their parents have a duty to spend their descendants and spouses. Civil law provides for different possibilities for supporting the parents. Selecting the mode of livelihood depends on many factors. Base represents the family as the fundamental unit of society, relations within it, as well as socio-political stance. Demographic changes in the context of an aging population, which we have witnessed in the last ten years, representing a factor for the choice of how you maintain your parent. Coping with the parents in the home environment may be subject to contractual forms of livelihood can be based on good mutual relations, reciprocity and solidarity. Lack of time away from home, and inability to care for their elderly and sick parents, is often the most common cause, that children have to choose the way of spending the installation of parents in the institution. Social security laws with its financial transfers improves and increases the possibility of using various forms of social services, but children are having their duty maintenance can often pushed to the poverty threshold. Among the various forms of livelihood of his parents, the parents spend with their stay in the institution of good quality and safe choice of livelihood. Numerous control institutions that exercise oversight over the work in homes for the elderly, represent a certain level of safe care for the elderly and sick parents.
