Abstract:	V diplomski nalogi smo raziskali priložnosti za izboljšanje delovanja Knjižnice za slepe in slabovidne Slovenije. Knjižnica je posebna že zato, ker je edina, ki celovito služi ljudem, ki so slepi, slabovidni, dislektiki ali imajo druge dokazane težave in motnje pri branju. Hkrati se tudi trudi slediti razvoju tehnologije in upoštevati moderne pristope za servisiranje uporabnikov s takimi potrebami. Posledično je izposoja gradiv drugačna kot v drugih knjižnicah. Poleg tega pa je knjižnica zadolžena tudi za produkcijo gradiv, ki jih nato uporabnikom ponuja. Predstavili smo pojme, povezane z delom knjižnice, ter teoretične osnove prenavljanja procesov. Nadaljevali smo s prikazom trenutnega delovanja knjižnice, po analizi tega delovanja pa predlagali izboljšave njenega delovanja. Dodali smo tudi tehnološke, kadrovske in procesne predloge za prihodnost, s čimer bomo poskušali nakazati optimalno smer za čim boljše izpolnjevanje cilja knjižnice, ki je zagotavljati čim boljšo dostopnost gradiv za slepe, slabovidne, dislektike in ljudi z drugimi ovirami na področju branja.

Title:	PROCESS REENGINEERING AT LIBRARY FOR BLIND AND VISUALLY IMPAIRED
Abstract:	The thesis explored opportunities to improve the functioning of library for the blind and partially sighted of Slovenia. The library is already special in this regard because it is the only one that comprehensively serves people who are blind, visually impaired, dyslexics or others have proven problems and disorders in reading. At the same time they are trying to keep pace with technology and modern approach to servicingusers with such needs. In this regard, available material is different than in other libraries. The other difference to other libraries is that the library is producing all of its own materials, which are then offered to customers. We introduced work-related concepts of this library and theoretical basis of the renovation process. We continued to show the current operation of the library, an analysis of the operation and proposed various improvements of it’s performance. We also added technology, personnel and procedural proposals for the future, so we will try to indicate the optimal way for the best possible mission of the library which is to provide the best possible availability of materials for the blind, visually impaired, dyslexics and people with other handicaps in reading.
