Abstract:V diplomskem delu smo predstavili teoretične osnove dovajanja, odvajanja in čiščenja vode ter vode kot take. Sočasno smo opravili raziskavo z anketnim vprašalnikom, s katerim smo ugotavljali navade anketirancev glede splakovanja sanitarij, njihovo poznavanje alternativnih načinov splakovanja, njihove trenutne sisteme splakovanja in osnovne demografske podatke. V prvem delu smo opisali teoretične osnove vode, lastnosti in nečistoče v njej, vrste voda, vodovodne sisteme in njihove elemente, kanalizacijske sisteme in njihove elemente, vire kanalizacijskih voda in čiščenje odpadnih voda. V drugem delu smo predstavili obstoječe alternativne rešitve, kot so sistemi splakovanja z deževnico, sivo vodo, dodatnim pritiskom, kroženjem mineralnih olj in sistem splakovanja oziroma odstranjevanja s sežiganjem.

Title:ALTERNATIVE SOURCES FOR FLUSHING SANITARY FACILITIES
Abstract:In this diploma thesis, we presented the theoretical basis of water distribution, wastewater drainage, wastewater treatment and water as such. We also described existing solutions with alternative sources for flushing toilets, which could be used instead of flushing with potable water by classical flushing systems. At the same time, we carried out a survey, which was used to specify what are the current flushing habits, how known are the solutions with alternative flushing sources, what are the current flushing systems of respondents, and their demographic data. By making connections between the questions and by the comparison of different alternative solutions, we answered our research questions. The diploma consists of four parts. In the first part, we described the theoretical basis of water, water characteristics and its impurities, water types, water distribution and its elements, wastewater drainage and its elements, sources of wastewater, and wastewater treatment. In the second part, we described existing alternative solutions, such as flushing with rainwater, grey water, pressure-assisted flushing systems, flushing with mineral-based oil or disposal by incineration. In the third part, we presented the results of the survey that helped us answer our research questions. We discovered how well-known are different alternative solutions, how many respondents are using them, what are the main reasons that are convincing or deterring when it comes to the implementation of alternative solutions, what is the level of importance of different factors that have influenced the choice of alternative solutions, if it is possible to reduce the usage of drinking water for toilet-flushing and if knowledge on alternative solutions and consideration of possible implementation are influenced by different demographic characteristics of the respondents. The fourth part consists of the comparative analytics of alternative solutions that are described in the thesis. We tried to determine the most suitable solution by using the comparison and the results of the survey. In the final part, we presented the key findings and possible solutions that could help reduce the usage of drinking water for flushing toilets, which are based on the collected information.
