Abstract:Odpadki so del našega vsakdana, saj nenehno nastajajo, na žalost v vedno večjih količinah.

Title:Optimization of waste material recovery in the company Gorenje Surovina
Abstract:Every one of us produces waste on a daily basis in larger and larger quantities. The main reason for this is the modern society and its way of living. It is extremely necessary to reduce those quantities by carefully handling waste in order to contribute to a better world with well-informed public and a cleaner environment. The purpose of this article is focusing on the optimization of waste material recovery of mixed packing waste, which represents an enormous part of municipal waste produced by households. The experimental part of our work is illustrated with an implementation of sorting analysis, where a separation into fractions such as cartons, metals, paper, glass, hard plastic, light plastic, PET plastic bottles and residues, has been made by hand. After the separation, a laboratory analysis of residues was made. We got the composition and physical and chemical properties of each kind of waste. We specifically focused on the fraction of hard plastic which is a popular waste product because of its versatile use. Hard plastic represents almost a third of the total sample of packing waste in sorting analysis. A part of hard plastic can be used to generate heat and electricity by burning in incineration because of its high combustion value. But for certain types of plastic the more appropriate material recovery is to make a recycled product.
