Abstract:	Ljudje smo vizualna bitja; verjamemo tisto, kar vidimo. Kakovostna predstavitev bo prepričala še tako zahtevnega sodnika. Dejansko stanje na kraju nam kaže na to, kaj se je tam dogajalo. Iz tega gledišča je zato zelo pomembna kakovost dokumentiranja stanja, ko je na kraju preiskovalec. Preiskovalec si nato ustvari možne različice dogajanja, ki jih tudi s pomočjo slikovnega gradiva in drugih analitičnih dejstev potrjuje ali negira. Čas za preverjanje določenih dejstev, ki izvirajo s kraja dogodka, si lahko močno skrajšamo z njihovim preverjanjem na enem samem kraju. To je virtualno okolje. Sama razmerja med predmeti so prav tako pomembna, kot je vsebina. Celotna slika dogodka in možnost prostorskega lociranja posameznih podrobnosti ne glede na čas, se pravi po zaključku opravil na kraju dogodka, sta lahko velik pripomoček k uspešnemu preiskovanju. V zaključku preiskave ostane ena sama različica dogodka, ki je neizpodbitno dokazana tudi s stanjem na kraju po dogodku. Preverljiva pa je tudi z rekonstrukcijo dogodka. Digitalna fotogrametrija je trenutno ena najboljših metod, s katero celostno zajamemo stanje. Poleg tega si na kraju bistveno olajšamo delo, saj s krajšim postopkom zajamemo bistveno večje število podatkov, kot bi to storili s posameznimi opravili — s fotografiranjem, skiciranjem in merjenjem. V prihodnosti lahko pričakujemo izboljšanje obstoječih digitalnih zapisov do take mere, da nanje ne bodo bistveno vplivali zunanji dejavniki, na katere nimamo vpliva. S tem bo tudi fotogrametrija uporabna kjerkoli in kadarkoli.

Title:	IMPLEMENTATION OF DIGITAL PHOTOGRAMMETRY IN MODERN FORENSIC INVESTIGATION
Abstract:	Humans are above all visual beings who tend to believe that which we can see with our own eyes. A good presentation will manage to convince even the strictest of judges. The situation at the scene provides and insight into what transpired there. From this point of view, the quality of documenting the situation at the scene with the investigator present bears an even greater importance. After documenting the elements at the scene the investigator proceeds to draw up various potential versions of the events that had taken place, whereby he or she also uses images and other analytical facts in order to confirm or reject the hypotheses. The time needed to check certain facts stemming from the scene of the event can be greatly reduced by carrying out the checks at a single location. Namely, the virtual environment. The relationships between elements are just as important as their contents. The comprehensive image of the event and the possibility to pinpoint the location of individual details independently of time, i.e. after all tasks at the scene of the event have been completed, can be of great importance in contributing to the investigation’s success. By the end of the investigation, a single version of the event remains, which is irrefutably substantiated by the situation at the scene as found after the event. Such a version can also be checked by way of event reconstruction. Digital photogrammetry is currently one of the best methods for capturing the situation comprehensively. In addition, it can make work at the scene much easier as a quicker procedure captures a significantly larger amount of data than a number of individual tasks such as photographing, sketching and measuring. It is reasonable to expect that in the future the current digital records will be improved to such an extent that they will not be significantly influenced by external factors that we cannot control. Photogrammetry will thus become useful anyplace and at any time.
