S pomočjo deskriptivne metode dela smo pojasnili splošne značilnosti gibalnega razvoja, opredelili motorične sposobnosti in faze gibalnega razvoja ter večjo pozornost namenili pomenu gibalnih dejavnosti v predšolskem obdobju. Našteli smo vzroke in posledice prekomerne telesne teže in debelosti otrok, katere povzročajo različne bolezni (povišan krvni tlak, sladkorna bolezen tipa 2, srčno-žilne bolezni, bolezni jeter in ledvic).

Title:PHYSICAL ACTIVITY IN PRESCHOOL PERIOD AS PREVENTION OF EXCESSIVE BODY WEIGHT AND OBESITY
Abstract:In the thesis, which is entitled Physical activity in preschool period as prevention of excessive body weight and obesity we wanted to find out on the theoretical level how with different motoric activities we could prevent overweight and obesity in preschool children. Using descriptive methods we explained the general characteristics of motor development, we identified motor skills and motor development stages, and we devoted special attention to the importance of physical activities in the preschool period. We discovered the causes and consequences of overweight and obesity in children, which cause various diseases (hypertension, type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease and liver and kidney diseases). With the comparative method we compared the percentage of nutritional status in the world and in Slovenia and reviewed the nutritional status according to body mass index. In Slovenia and around the world are overweight and obesity in children widely extended and are rapidly increasing. In the year 2012, in Slovenia were 27.10% overweight boys, of which 7.30% were obese and 23.70% of overweight girls, of which 6.50% were obese. In accordance with the purpose of our work we have come to the conclusion that a daily moderate intensive physical activity has a preventive effect on obesity and overweight children.
