ESTIEM (European students of industrial Engineering and Management) je ne-profitna študentska organizacije, ki združuje študente tehničnega znanja in managementa celotne Evrope.

Title:MOTIVATION AND CROSS-CULTURAL DIFFERENCES WITHIN ESTIEM
Abstract:In conducting within international NGOs leaders encounter repeated problems, such as cultural differences, motivation, the fact that the projects to be carried out in another country, as the leader is located, and others. How are this and many other problems addressed, often depends on the motivation and the cultural and personal backgrounds leaders within ESTIEM , which has been studied in the research part of the thesis ESTIEM is the organisation for European Students of Industrial Engineering and Management, who combine technological understanding with management skills. Founded back in 1990, ESTIEM was established to connect IEM students all over Europe and provide them a unique platform. Nowadays ESTIEM is a strong network represented by 77 Local Groups, in 30 countries, reaching out to 60.000 students. All these independently-functioning local student associations organise Europe-wide and local activities, and represent ESTIEM in their universities. Besides the work in Committees, Projects and Initiatives, ESTIEM’s core activity is organising over 80 events every year. ESTIEM offers several types of events with various focus on networking, education, self-development and spreading cultural awareness through the whole Europe (ESTIEM, 2016). Project leader holds an important role as they shape the project's within the ESTIEM network and the network itself. Besides presenting all of the levels and segments of ESTIEM, the levels, motivation and cross-cultural differences of the leaders has been presented. A research on the importance of each element (especially motivation and cross-cultural difference) has been conducted among ESTIEM leaders. The outcome of the research was, that all the members who are applying for a leadership position are highly motivated, in most of the cases the motivation is increasing during the leadership year and rearly the leader lost his or her motivation. One of our conclusions is as well, that ESTIEM is a great surrounding for youngsterst to understand and accept cultural differences.
