Abstract:Izhodišča: Zdravstvena nega pacienta, ki se zdravi z biološkimi zdravili je pomemben člen pri zdravljenju rakavih bolnikov ter eno izmed najbolj dinamičnih področij zdravstvene nege. Ker so biološka zdravila dokaj nova, izkušenj, ki bi temeljila na dolgoletni praksi ni. Namen diplomskega dela je predstaviti vlogo medicinske sestre pri obravnavi pacienta, ki se zdravi z biološkimi zdravili, osnovna ter specifična znanja, ki jih medicinska sestra potrebuje pri svojem delu in ugotoviti poznavanje dela z biološkimi zdravili ter ugotoviti katera specifična znanja si medicinske sestre, ki delajo z biološkimi zdravili še želijo pridobiti. Raziskovalna metodologija: Uporabljena je bila deskriptivna metoda dela. Raziskava je temeljila na anketnem vprašalniku s katerim smo anketirali medicinske sestre, ki delajo z biološkimi zdravili. Zbrane podatke smo analizirali in predstavili s pomočjo računalniškega programa Microsoft Excel. Rezultati: Večina anketiranih dobro pozna biološka zdravila. Največ znanja je pridobljeno na oddelčnih izobraževanjih, strokovnih srečanjih, iz knjig, interneta, od farmacevtov in strokovnih revij. Diskusija in zaključek: Medicinske sestre si želijo pridobiti več specialnih znanj o bioloških zdravilih in zaščiti zdravja pri delu z biološkimi zdravili.

Title:THE ROLE OF THE NURSE IN THE TREATMENT OF PATIENT RECEIVING BIOPHARMACEUTICALS
Abstract:Introduction: Nursing care of a patient, that is being treated with biological therapy, is an important element in the treatment of cancer patients, and one of the most dynamic areas of nursing. Since biological therapy is quite new, there are no experience, that would be based on long-standing practice. The purpose of this study is to present the role of a nurse in treating a patient that is on biological therapy, basic and specific knowledge that a nurse needs in their work, to establish a knowledge in relation with biological therapy, and figure out what specific skills nurses in that field want gain. Research methodology: Descriptive method was used. The study was based on a survey questionnaire. Nurses that work with biological therapy were interviewed. The collected data were analyzed and presented by a computer program Microsoft Excel. Results: Most of the respondents knows well biological therapy. Most of the knowledge is acquired at departmental trainings, professional meetings, from books, the internet, from pharmacists, and professional journals. Discussion and conclusion: Nurses wish to acquire more specialized knowledge about biological therapy and health protection when working with biological therapy.
