V teoretičnem delu so predstavljeni poklic učitelja razrednega pouka, predmet družba, načela in cilji osnovne šole, kompetence učiteljev in digitalna kompetenca.

Title:Implementation of competences in teaching Social Sciences (with emphasis on digital competences)
Abstract:The purpose of this Master's thesis was to examine the implementation of competences in teaching the subject Social Sciences. The theoretical part presents the profession of class teachers, Social Sciences as a school subject, the principles and objectives of primary school, teachers' competences and digital competence. The second, empirical part, presents the results of empirical research, which was based on 170 teachers of grade 4 and 5 respectively, who taught the subject Social Sciences in Slovenian primary schools in the school year 2015/16. The aim of the research was to learn about the competences of teachers, their development and obstacles to their development, the use of ICT and e-learning materials and where and to what extent they have learnt to use ICT media. We have found that teachers like teaching Social Sciences, that general competences are most developed among the their competences, that most teachers are actively involved in various forms of developing their own competences and that they are mostly not obstructed in doing so. Teachers use ICT in the majority of lessons, most often when teaching new material and they learn to use it best while directly working with it in practice. E-learning materials are most commonly obtained on the Internet and used most widely when teaching the module People in the environment.
