Abstract:V magistrskem delu Optimiziranje terenskega dela pri pouku geografije analiziramo položaj in vlogo terenskega dela v slovenskih šolah in nekaterih evropskih državah.

Title:Optimization of Field Work in Geography Lessons
Abstract:Master´s thesis titled Optimization of Field Work in Geography Lessons analyses the position and role of field work in Slovenian schools and some of the European countries. It establishes how field work is placed in school curriculums and a professional support to teacher for its implementation. It researches teachers´, pupils´, and students´ relationship toward field work, and establishes differences among their perspectives regarding gender and type of school. Comparatively establishes which forms of field work would be sensible to introduce in geography lessons in Slovenian school in order to better realize objectives of the curriculum. It shows and justifies a double role of the field work in school curriculums: the field work satisfies specific geographical objectives from the point of view of geographical contents and skills, and using research methodology, it also meets the general objectives of the Slovenian school. The main hypothesis is that in Slovene school geography not all possibilities are used to make field work a more effective and more often used didactical approach. Therefore, the master´s thesis offers principled arguments for more field work, and among pupils checks the alternative possibilities for field work based on guided observation using worksheets. Based on the pupils´ answers, some guidelines and examples for tasks for field work are prepared. They are based on integration of novelties of geographical science and modern pedagogical paradigms. In conclusion, it offers actual suggestions and principled considerations for development of school field work in the future.
