Abstract:	Sodobni čas nenehnih in velikih sprememb prinaša tudi spremembe tradicionalne vloge, ki je v družbi pripadala ženski. Pomen žensk se sicer povečuje, zdi pa se, da se povečujejo tudi bremena, ki jim jih prinaša potreba po uskladitvi dela doma in v službi. Pričujoča diplomska naloga se ukvarja s problematiko zaposlovanja žensk in z usklajevanjem družinskih in službenih obveznosti. V teoretičnem delu smo predstavili zgodovino zaposlovanja žensk in kdaj se je začela njihova dvojna obremenjenost, kakšen vpliv ima materinstvo na kariero in na položaj žensk na trgu dela. V nadaljevanju smo se osredotočili še na različne oblike pomoči države in delodajalcev in predstavili, kako zaznavamo dvojno obremenjenost žensk v Sloveniji. Namen diplomskega dela je bil predstaviti dejavnike, ki vplivajo na odločitev za materinstvo in na kasnejše usklajevanje kariere in družine, in jih preveriti tudi v empiričnem delu naloge. V izhodišču smo postavili več raziskovalnih vprašanj, ki smo jih z analizo podatkov, zbranih z anketnim vprašalnikom, poskusili potrditi oziroma ovreči. Tako smo poskušali poiskati mogoče rešitve, ki bi prispevale k razbremenitvi žensk.

Title:	WOMEN BETWEEN FAMILY AND CAREER
Abstract:	The modern era of constant and major changes is accompanied by major shifts in traditional social patterns and the role of women in the society. Increased importance and recognition of women brought with it also heavier burdens, mainly due to the need of coordinating professional careers and family life and obligations. The present thesis entitled women between career and family is dealing with the issue of employment of women and the reconciliation of family and work obligations. The theoretical part presents the history of women's employment and the origins of their double burdens, their implications on motherhood, careers and their position in the labour market. In the next part we focused on the various forms of assistance provided by the state and employers and presented how the double burden of women is perceived in Slovenia. The goal of this thesis was presenting the factors that influence women's decision for motherhood and subsequent coordination of career and family and also test them in the empirical part of the thesis. We have formed several research questions that we set out to approve or disprove by analysing the results of our questionnaire. We tried to find solutions and proposal to help alleviate women burdens in modern society.
