Znanje otrok so ocenjevali vzgojitelji in vzgojiteljice. Testiranje smo izvajali v skupini 5 – 6 let starih otrok.

Title:Introduction to social environment through play in early childhood education
Abstract:Children’s play is essential for a child’s development in every aspect of life and serves as one of the most efficient means which allows the child to become included in its social environment. Through play the child develops mental and physical abilities, and experiences happiness and satisfaction. The practical part of this thesis presents an original learning game Bistre glavce and the evaluation of its effects. Board game was made on the basis of elements that include inventiveness, sociability and learning in a fun way. We have also included topics from didactic. Topics, educational for pre-school children, were included into the game. Evaluation of, or establishing the effects of the game, was based on the comparison of children’s knowledge before and after they had played the game. This knowledge was assessed by kindergarten teachers. Testing was performed on a group of children aged 5-6. The results show that the children’s strongest fields of knowledge before playing the game were “home”, “traffic signs” and “seasons”, whereas the weakest were “time as a unit”, “jobs” and “holidays”. After playing the game for multiple times, learning has improved in next areas: family, professions, transport and seasons. Through game, we were developing on children elements of strategic thinking, which was clearly in the child's strategic choice of cards and in attempts of anticipation in moves of teammates. We also found that the social game is suitable way to integrate individual areas of activity, as children associated sectors of society, mathematics and science.
