Title:Terapevtski pristopi pri starostniku z duševno motnjo

Abstract:Teoretična izhodišča: Namen diplomskega dela je bil predstaviti različne terapevtske pristope pri starostniku z duševno motnjo in opisati prednosti ter slabosti le teh, prav tako pa predstaviti terapevtski odnos med medicinsko sestro in starostnikom z duševno motnjo ter njegovimi svojci. V diplomskem delu smo opredelili tudi pojem duševna motnja in katere so najpogostejše duševne motnje v starosti. Ugotovili smo tudi katere ključne elemente moramo upoštevati pri terapevtskem pristopu pri starostniku z duševno motnjo. Raziskovalna metodologija: Uporabili smo deskriptivno metodo raziskovanja, da smo lahko odgovorili na zastavljeno raziskovalno vprašanje. Ključnega pomena v procesu zdravljenja je terapevtski pristop, ki predstavlja temelj biofizičnih, kognitivnih in emocionalnih sprememb, katerih namen je izboljšanje pacientovega zdravja. Rezultati: Zelo pomembno je, da terapevtski pristop že od začetka zdravljenja vsebuje tako psihološko, kot čustveno in duhovno podporo za starostnika in za njegove svojce, ki morajo biti o duševni motnji in primerni oskrbi ter odnosu do starostnika dobro informirani. Sklep: Eden ključnih elementov je tudi starostnika poslušati in slišiti, kar omogoča pravočasno odkrivanje duševnih motenj oziroma izbiro primernega terapevtskega pristopa ter kontinuirano izobraževanje in strokovnost zdravstvenih delavcev.

Title:Therapeutic methods for the elderly person with mental disorders
Abstract:Introduction: The purpose of the diploma paper is to introduce different therapeutic approaches used while helping elderly person with mental disorder; moreover, the purpose is to describe advantages and disadvantages of the aforementioned therapeutic approaches, and to introduce the therapeutic relationship between the nurse and the elderly with mental disorder, and between elderly and his relatives. In the diploma paper, the term mental disorder is discussed, and the most frequent mental disorders of the elderly people are described. It is established which key elements must be followed in using therapeutic approaches while helping elderly with mental disorder. Methods: The descriptive method of research is used to answer the raised question. The key feature in the process of treatment is therapeutic approach, which represent the basis for biophysical, cognitive, and emotional changes, and purpose of which is the improvement of the patient’s health. Results: From the very beginning it is important that the therapeutic approach includes psychological, emotional and spiritual support for the elderly and his relatives; the relatives of the elderly shall be informed about the mental disorder, the proper care, and about the attitude towards the elderly. Discussion: Moreover, it is important to listen to the elderly and to hear him. By that, we can detect the mental disorders in time, and we can choose appropriate therapeutic approach, and ensure continued education and professional competence of health care professionals.
