Abstract:V magistrskem delu z naslovom Demografske značilnosti dvojezičnega območja v občini Moravske Toplice smo predstavili nekatere statistične podatke dvojezičnega območja (naselja: Čikečka vas, Motvarjevci, Pordašinci, Prosenjakovci in Središče) in jih primerjali z občinskim središčem in preostalim delom občine.

Title:DEMOGRAPHIC CHARACTERISTICS OF ETHNICALLY MIXED AREA OF MORAVSKE TOPLICE MUNICIPALITY
Abstract:In the master’s thesis with the title Demographic Characteristics of Ethnically Mixed Area of Moravske Toplice Municipality, we introduced some statistical data of the bilingual area (settlements of Čikečka vas, Motvarjevci, Pordašinci, Prosenjakovci and Središče) and compared them with the municipality’s centre as well as with the rest of the municipality. We can observe that the negative growth of population is present almost throughout the entire area and there is no difference between the bilingual and monolingual part of the municipality. The centre of Moravske Toplice municipality is developing because of the influence of tourism. For this reason, its population growth is positive, just like in the settlements of Lukačevci and Mlajtinci. The only differences can be seen between the areas that are situated in Goričko and Murska ravan. Strong depopulation is more distinct in Goričko although it is present all over the municipality. Ageing index shows us that the population of Moravske Toplice municipality ages quickly. In some settlements, there is five times more people over 65 years than there are children of age 15 or less. Feminity index is higher in the Goričko part of the municipality and there are no differences between the monolingual or bilingual areas. The national structure of the bilingual area was changing through history and dependent political conditions of that time. In the ethnical structure of the bilingual areas, the differences were made in the times of dualism with the Magyarization process in Pordašinci settlement in the full swing, and after 1945 when Pordašinci lost the Hungarian minority. At the same time, the share of Hungarians decreased because of their regressive ethical identity and the simultaneous rise of Slovenians.
