Abstract:	V magistrskem delu smo preučevali Webrove osrednje koncepte – racionalizacijo, birokratizacijo in idejo železne kletke – ter odraz slednjih v Orwellovi antiutopiji 1984. Z uporabo primerjave in kritične ter interpretativne diskurzivne analize so bili koncepti reprezentirani skozi dekompozicijo družbenega življenja na področje prava, politike, ekonomije, religije ter sfero emocij in erotike. Pomenski vrh magistrske naloge predstavlja »železna kletka«, po Webru posledica in končni izraz preveč racionalizirane in zbirokratizirane družbe. Birokratizacija kot pretvornik družbenega delovanja v racionalno organizirano ter racionalizacija kot posvajanje sheme pravil birokratske organizacije se, ob umanjkanju raznolikih interesnih konfliktnih napetosti, ultimativno izrazita v železni kletki. Slednja eksistira in odreja življenje Orwellove antiutopične oceanijske družbe. Znotraj te so s strani celote različnih individuumov, razredov in institucij vidni vsi tipi subjektivne in objektivne racionalnosti, skozi analizo pa je bil ugotovljen tudi ključen pomen etične materialne racionalnosti. Poleg tega pa se pomen racionalnosti izkaže kot aktivna svetovna nadvlada ter kot preračunljivost oz. ustrezna kalkulacija sredstev, ki vodijo do cilja. Čeprav delo zajema tudi pomen racionalnosti v smislu predvidljivosti in sistematične ureditve, le-ti ne temeljita na zapisanih pravilih. Gre za družbo, ki se je racionalizirala skladno z enim in enotnim ciljem oblasti, kateremu je podrejeno celotno družbeno delovanje, in ki je, gledano z drugačnih pozicij, iracionalno. Represalijska eliminacija navzkrižnih interesnih konfliktov in s tem razvojne ustvarjalnosti, poleg tega pa tudi onemogočen vznik novih karizmatičnih prerokov, vladajočim omogoča večno oblast v okamenelem svetu ter konec procesa racionalizacije, obenem pa predstavlja stičišče Webrove in Orwellove pesimistične slike potencialne prihodnosti družbe.

Title:	Representation of rationalization, bureaucratization and the idea of an iron cage of M. Weber in the work "1984" of G. Orwell
Abstract:	In master's thesis we studied Weber's central concepts – rationalization, bureaucratization and the idea of an iron cage – and a reflection of the latter in Orwell's anti-utopia 1984. The concepts were represented through decomposition of social life to the field of law, politics, economy, religion and to the sphere of emotions and eroticism, with the use of a comparison and critical and interpretative discursive analysis. Master's thesis semantic top is represented by the »iron cage«, according to Weber, a consequence and final expression of overmuch rationalized and bureaucratized society. Bureaucratization as a converter of social action into rationally organized one, and rationalization as an acquisition of the rules scheme of bureaucratic organization are, in the absence of diverse conflicts of interests tensions, ultimately expressed in the iron cage. The latter exists and imposes the life of Orwell's antiutopian oceanian society. Within it, we can see all types of subjective and objective rationality by the entirety of various individuals, social classes and institutions, in addition, there has been found the vital importance of ethical material rationality which revealed throughout the analysis. Furthermore, the meaning of rationality is shown as an active world domination, and as a calculation or adequate calculation of means which lead to the goal. Although the work contains the meaning of rationality in the sense of predictability and systematic order as well, they are not based on written rules. We are dealing with a society that has rationalized in line with the one and only goal of authority, to which the entire social action is subordinated, and which is, seen from a different perspective, irrational. The reprisal elimination of opposing conflicts of interests and, therefore, developmental creativity, and besides that disabled emergence of a new charismatic prophets, enables the governing parties an everlasting authority in the petrified world and the end of the process of rationalization, and, at the same time it represents Weber's and Orwell's juncture of pessimistic view on potencial future of the society.
