Abstract:	V diplomski nalogi smo obravnavali temo usklajevanja poklicnega in družinskega življenja, ki je v današnjem času zelo aktualna. Opisali smo, kako je to področje urejeno v državi oziroma kateri so ukrepi, s katerimi država pripomore k lažjemu usklajevanju. Opisali smo tudi teoretične pojme, povezane z delom in zaposlitvijo, ter razložili vlogo ženske kot matere in moškega kot očeta v družini. Raziskavo smo izvedli v občini Komenda, ki je ena izmed občin v Sloveniji, v kateri narašča priseljevanje mladih in posledično število družin z otroki. Raziskovali smo, ali so ženske še vedno bolj obremenjene glede vzgoje in gospodinjskih del in kakšna je pri tem vloga modernega očeta oziroma partnerja. Proučevali smo porazdeljenost gospodinjskih del med partnerjema in ali še vedno prevladuje tradicionalna vloga ženske kot skrbnice družine. Iskali smo odgovor, ali delodajalci razumejo težave, ki jih imajo zaposleni z usklajevanjem poklicnega in družinskega življenja. Zanimalo nas je tudi, ali so fleksibilne oblike delovnega časa v pomoč pri usklajevanju poklicnega dela in zasebnega življenja oziroma ali se zaposleni starši odločijo to pravico tudi koristiti in kaj jih ovira pri odločitvi za delo s skrajšanim delovnim časom. Ugotovili smo, da imajo moški pri iskanju zaposlitve prednost pred ženskami in da delodajalci pogosto raje zaposlijo moške, saj se predpostavlja, da so bolj predani delu in karieri, ženske pa so bolj usmerjene v družino in dom. Ugotovili pa smo tudi, da se zaposlitev velikokrat ponudi, ko je prava oseba ob pravem času na pravem mestu in ni odvisno od tega, katerega spola je.

Title:	Reconciliation of business and family life in municipality Komenda
Abstract:	In this diploma thesis we dealt with the subject which is very popular nowadays: coordinating the professional and family life. We presented how the area is arranged on the national level and which measures the state takes to aid the coordination. We also described the theoretical concepts regarding work and jobs and explained the woman’s role as the mother and man’s role as the father in the family. We conducted a survey in the municipality of Komenda which is one of the municipalities in Slovenia where the immigration of young people is increasing and consequently also the number of families with children is rising. We explored whether women are still more burdened with raising children and doing housework and what role does the modern father/partner have in this. We studied how the housework is divided among the partners and whether the woman’s traditional role as a caretaker in the family is still prevailing. We tried to answer the question whether the employers understand the difficulties their employees have with coordinating the professional and family life. We were also interested in whether the flexible working hours are helping coordinating the professional and personal life and if the working parents decide to enforce their right to work part time and what obstructs them when deciding to work part time. We established that men have preference over women in job-searching and that the employers often prefer to hire men assuming that they are more dedicated to work and career and that women are more family and home oriented. We also established that often the possibility of employment is offered to the person who is at the right time at the right place and regardless of their sex.
