Abstract:Magistrsko delo obravnava opis pojma informacijskega modeliranja zgradb (kratica BIM) in predstavitev tega v neposredni povezavi z interoperabilnostjo med glavnimi udeleženci v gradbenem projektu. Zaradi zahtevnosti in unikatnosti v gradbeništvu je komunikacija med temi udeleženci bistvenega pomena za uspešnost in stroškovno učinkovitost projektov. S tem namenom smo v prvem delu najprej opisali glavne lastnosti BIM-a in koncepte, kako zagotoviti interoperabilnost. Poseben poudarek v celotnem magistrskem delu smo dali pojmu IFC (kratica za Industry Foundation Classes) in pojmu MVD (Model View Defnition). V drugem delu smo predstavili različne BIM-aplikacije, ki jih pogosto uporabljajo udeleženci BIM-sistemov, in opisali natančno tiste, ki smo jih uporabljali v magistrskem delu. V tretjem delu smo izvedli medsebojne teste interoperabilnosti. Postavili smo različne scenarije in preverili možnosti in uspešnost komuniciranja med arhitekti, projektanti, naročniki in gradbenimi izvajalci. Poskušali smo ohraniti rdečo nit in zastaviti scenarije v oblikovalski fazi projekta, kjer se projekt začne z arhitektom in konča s statično analizo spojev.

Title:Interoperability assessment of specific open bim applications
Abstract:This master’s thesis deals with the explanation (exposition) of the concept of building information modelling (BIM) and its direct relation to the interoperability between the major participants in a construction project. Due to the complexity and uniqueness of construction, communication between these actors is essential for ensuring the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of projects. With this in mind, the first part of the thesis describes the main features of BIM concepts and how to ensure interoperability. Throughout the thesis, special emphasis is given to IFC (an acronym for Industry Foundation Classes) and the concept of MVD (Model View Definition). In the second part, it presents a variety of BIM applications that are widely used by participants in the BIM environment, and a more detailed description of those that are used in the thesis. In the third part, tests of interoperability were performed. Different scenarios were set up, checking the possibilities and effectiveness of communication between architects, engineers, contractors and owners. The thesis tries to maintain a common thread by placing the scenarios in the design phase of a construction project, in which the project starts with the architect and ends with a static analysis of the joints. Tests were carried out with great focus on the exchange of reference models (IFC models) and especially on the impact of the choice of MVD. Also tested was the direct link between applications with the application programming interface (API). The thesis briefly describes the challenges and costs that a company may incur when undertaking to introduce and implement a BIM system. It also describes some positive effects where interoperability between the participants in a construction project is ensured.
