Abstract:Bližnja infrardeča spektroskopija omogoča neinvazivno spremljanje oksigenacije tkiv. Delovanje izdelanega sistema smo preverili z večkratnimi meritvami somatske in cerebralne oksigenacije zdravega preiskovanca.

Title:A low-cost system for nirs-based assessment of skin, adipose and brain tissue oxygenation
Abstract:Near-infrared spectroscopy supports non-invasive monitoring of tissue oxygenation. Due to the optical properties of human tissue and its contained chromophores, the light of near infrared region is especially suitable for monitoring concentrations of oxy- and deoxy hemoglobin. In this master's thesis we describe the design and implementation of a system for measuring oxygenation levels using near-infrared spectroscopy. This device comprises of an optoelectronic sensor and control circuit. Optoelectronic sensor is composed of a bi-color light emitting diode which emits light with wavelengths of 750 and 850 nm and a couple of differently spaced photodiodes. The analog to digital conversion of the optoelectronic sensor’s signal is carried out on the control circuit, which sends signals to the personal computer where they are decomposed and processed by specific algorithms to calculate the relative change in oxygenation level. We tested the designed system by performing multiple measurements of somatic and cerebral oxygenation on a healthy young subject.
