Abstract:Magistrsko delo govori o šolstvu v Mariboru med obema vojnama. Poseben poudarek je na osnovnih šolah, še posebej na III. in IV. deški šoli. Prvi del o kulturi in nastanku osnovne šole temelji na časnikih in literaturi, drugi del pa s pomočjo arhivskega gradiva prikazuje stanje v šolstvu na področju Maribora med obema vojnama s predstavitvijo III. in IV. deške šole. Prikazan je razvoj kulturnega dogajanja v Mariboru, orisani pa so tudi politični dogodki, ki so med drugim vplivali tudi na šolstvo v Mariboru. Cilj magistrskega dela je napisati pregledno zgodovino o dogajanju med obema vojnama, ki vključuje nastanek osnovne šole na Slovenskem ter o šolstvu v Mariboru v določenih obdobjih. S podrobnejšo napisano zgodovino III. in IV. deške šole lahko bralec dobi celotno sliko o šolstvo v Mariboru med obema vojnama. K temu so pripomogli tudi opisi, ki se navezujejo na slovenske učitelje, ustanavljanje novih šol, nemškega vpliva, šolskih zakonov in prevratov.

Title:Elementary schools in Maribor in the interwar period with a focus on III. and IV. boys´ school
Abstract:This master’s thesis discusses education in Maribor in the interwar period. Special emphasis is placed on primary schools, especially on the III. and IV. Boys’ School. The first part, based on newspapers and literature, discusses culture and the emergence of primary schools, while the second part, based on archival material, depicts the state of education in Maribor in the interwar period through the two boys’ schools. Alongside the development of cultural life in Maribor is presented the political development of that time which had an impact on the city’s education. The goal of this thesis is to illuminate the history of the interwar period, which encompasses the formation of primary schools in the Slovene ethnic territory as well as the history of education in Maribor in certain periods of time. Moreover, through an in-depth history of the III. and IV. Boys’ School, the reader gets the whole picture of education in Maribor in the interwar period. A variety of descriptions, which relate to the Slovenian teachers, the establishments of new schools, the German influence, and the education laws and upheavals also contributed to this.
