Title:Textile cosmetic pads based on psyllium and protein colloid in combination with the horsetail extract
Abstract:The current trend in the cosmetic products market is creation of cosmetic products including various coatings with built-in natural substances. The basic purpose of this diploma work was, therefore, to develop a cosmetic pad with the application of a natural compound onto the selected carrier substrate. For this purpose, a water extract of the horsetail was selected as a healing/care compound, while psyllium and a protein colloid as a natural compounds able to form a gel-like structure. The property of the pronounced swelling of the psyllium and protein colloid (gelation) could thus be explored to incorporate the healing/care agent into a gel-like structure to achieve relatively simple application onto the non-woven carrier substrate of viscose. As a source of natural active agent, a horsetail is selected as a rich source of silica which can be used as an integral part of the cosmetic coating, for example, to reduce the cellulite, visibility of the age spots, facial wrinkles, etc. The great potential of the pads based on horsetail extract integrated in psyllium and protein colloid was found in the field of healing/care, since in vivo results seems to be extremely promising.
Keywords:viscose, pad, psyllium, horsetail, protein colloid, antimicrobial, antioxidativity
