Abstract:	V magistrski nalogi smo želeli prikazati primerjavo praznovanja v slovenski in španski družini. V začetnem delu je obravnavana družina na splošno, nato pa tudi značilnosti slovenskih in španskih družin. Poglobili smo se v področje praznikov, razjasnili pojme navade, običaji, šege, rituali ... nato pa obravnavane praznike razdelili v skupine državnih, verskih, osebnih in tradicionalnih praznikov. Izbrali smo petnajst praznikov in podrobneje analizirali njihov izvor ter običaje slovenskih in španskih družin ob praznovanju. S primerjavo družinskih običajev, ob dnevu državnosti, prazniku dela, dnevu spomina na mrtve, novem letu, Miklavžu, božiču, martinovem, veliki noči, rojstnem dnevu, godu, poroki, valeti in maturi, valentinovem in trgatvi, smo se ukvarjali tudi v empiričnem delu. V ta namen smo opravili intervjuje s člani družin v Španiji, v mestu Cádiz, in v Sloveniji, v mestu Maribor. Pridobljene empirične podatke smo primerjali med seboj in oblikovali sklepne misli ter ugotovitve.

Title:	Family and holidays (a comparison of slovenian and spanish family)
Abstract:	This master thesis presents the comparison of celebrations in Slovenian and Spanish families. The first part discusses family in general and the characteristics of Slovenian and Spanish families. We went into details with holidays clarifying the concepts of habits, traditions, customs, rituals ... Then we divided those holidays into groups of national, religious, personal and traditional holidays. We selected fifteen holidays and made a detailed analysis of their origin and the customs Slovenian and Spanish families have when celebrating them. We discussed the comparison of family traditions, National day, Labour Day, Remembrance Day of the Dead, New Year, St. Nicholas, Christmas, St. Martin's Day, Easter, birthday, name day, wedding, valedictory ball and high school graduation, Valentine's Day and vintage, in the empirical part. Ad hoc we made interviews with family members in Spain, in the city of Cadiz, and in Slovenia, in the city of Maribor. Empirical data that were obtained were compared among themselves and formed the final thoughts and observations.
