Abstract:Teoretična izhodišča: Artroza je degenerativna bolezen sklepa, ki povzroča obrabo hrustanca z možno hudo kronično bolečino in omejeno funkcijo sklepa. Zraven operativnega zdravljenja obrabe hrustanca se je v zadnjih letih začela uporabljati nova alternativna metoda. Zdravljenje s trombocitno plazmo oz. plazmo obogateno s trombociti je s svojim minimalno invazivnim pristopom in uporabo lastne krvi v namene zdravljenja vedno bolj privlačna. Raziskovalne metode: Uporabili smo kvantitativno metodo raziskovanja, kjer smo z vprašalnikom, sestavljenim po konceptualnem modelu Virginije Henderson, obravnavali pacienta s poškodbo meniskusa. Na podlagi sistematično zbranih in kasneje analiziranih podatkov smo izdelali načrt zdravstvene nege. Diskusija in zaključek: Prikazali smo pozitiven učinek zdravljenja s pomočjo plazme obogateno v obliki zmanjšane bolečine in povečane fizične aktivnosti pacienta.

Title:Platelet-Rich plasma treatment of a patient with knee osteoarthritis
Abstract:Theoretical bases: Osteoarthritis is a degenerative joint disease. The cartilage wears down, causing possible severe chronic pain and problems in moving the joint. In addition to the operative treatment of the cartilage wear, a new alternative method has been used in recent years. To treat the knee osteoarthritis platelet-rich plasma has become more and more attractive because of its minimally invasive approach and the use of patients own blood for therapeutic purposes. Research methods: A quantitative method of research was used. To treat a patient with a meniscus injury, a questionnaire compiled according to Virginia Henderson's conceptual model was used. On the basis of systematically collected and later analysed data a nursing care plan was prepared. Microsoft Word text editor was used to compile and edit data. Results: The results of the study have shown that in patients having knee osteoarthritis the quality of life has been reduced. The case study highlights health problems such as loss of motion and desired posture with accompanying pain. After the treatment with platelet-rich plasma, the health condition of the patient has improved. The pain decreased, the limited motion of the knee joint improved so the patient's satisfaction has increased. Discussion and conclusion: We have shown the positive treatment effect by using platelet-rich plasma, which has resulted in alleviating the pain and increase in the physical activity of the patient.
