Vsebina članka zajema pregled uporabe tehnologije 3-D tiskanja v modnem oblikovanju. V uvodnem delu so predstavljeni začetki tehnologije 3-D tiskanja, postopek 3-D tiskanja in filtracija tehnologije na področju modnega oblikovanja. Uvodu sledi poglavje Razvoj 3-D tiskanih oblačil, kjer so kronološko predstavljena 3-D tiskana oblačila in njihovi oblikovalci.

Title:Technology of 3D printing garments in fashion design
Abstract:Fashion has resisted the influence of 3D printing longer than other fields for a variety of reasons, such as the challenge of scale, the need for flexibility and comfort, the mismatch in appropriate materials and the challenges of the fashion market which still employs a huge number of manual workers around the world. Clothing has been 3D printed almost exclusively in the context of high fashion. This article is an overview of the use of 3D printing technology in fashion design. In the introduction part the beginnings of 3D printing technology, the 3D printing process and the filtration of technology in the field of fashion design are described. The introduction is followed by the section “Development of 3D printed garments” in which 3D printed clothing and its designers are presented in chronological order. The section starts with an introduction of the two pioneers of 3D printed textile forms, Janne Kyttänen and Jiri Evenhuis. Next to them, fashion designers who in recent years have had an impact on the popularity and the development of 3D printing technology in the fields of textile forms and clothing design are presented. In addition to the featured designers and their 3D printed garments also the technologies and materials used for creating 3D printed garments are presented. After the review of achievements, the presentation of the ad- vantages and disadvantages of using 3D printing technology in the field of fashion design and the completion of the article follow.
