Mikroekonomsko merilo blagostanja in individualne sreče predstavlja merjenje koristnosti.
Keywords:sreča, zadovoljstvo z življenjem, blagostanje, dohodek, gospodarska rast.

Title:Economic growth and the concept of happiness in the market societies
Abstract:Happiness is the criterion for measuring welfare and an essential element of quality living and, consequently, the well-being of people. The microeconomic benchmark of prosperity and individual happiness is measuring utility. An important indicator of the welfare of market societies is the growth of gross domestic product. The paradox of happiness shows that despite the rapid economic growth and improvement of the standard of living, people are not necessarily happier. When the economy reaches a certain level of income, the needs of the population are directed towards intangible factors. In this context, complex categories of values play an important role, such as social cohesion, freedom, security, peace, equality and democracy. A society wants a moderate economic growth which increases people's satisfaction. In order to strengthen it, not only material welfare, but also environmental and social well-being are needed. The interweaving of all three components ensures a stable and successful economy, which is ultimately the goal of all societies.
Keywords:happiness, satisfaction with life, well-being, income, economic growth.
