Abstract:V magistrskem delu z naslovom Sodobni pogledi na varstvo otrokovih pravic so predstavljene različne definicije pojmov. To so definicije pojma otrok, otroštvo in otrokove pravice.
Keywords:Otrok, otroštvo, otrokove pravice, ukrepi države za varovanje koristi otrok, varuh otrokovih pravic, zagovornik.

Title:Modern views on protection of children´s rights
Abstract:In the master's thesis entitled Modern Views on the Protection of the Rights of the Child, various definitions of concepts are presented. These are the definitions of the concept of children, childhood and children's rights. These definitions of concepts are closely interlinked and have changed over the course of history all the time. The definition of definitions of these concepts is closely linked to the status and position of children throughout history. Thus, in the master's thesis, the position of children in individual societies is also presented (in prehistory, antique, the Middle Ages, etc.). In order to understand the scope of children's rights, the master's thesis defines definitions of the concept of children, childhood and children's rights, through different views, both Slovenian and foreign authors, as well as through legislation. Both in history and today, children are still victims of violence and children's rights are still an open and topical topic. Of course, children, the weakest social beings, are given special protection and care. Today children have the status of an entity and not just statue of facility of rights. In accordance with their maturity and age, they belong to human rights and fundamental freedoms, which are defined in a number of international acts, the Constitution of the Republic of Slovenia and laws. Some important international acts are also presented in detail in the master's thesis.
Keywords:Child, childhood, children's rights, state measures to protect the interests of children, guardian of children's rights, advocate.
