Abstract:Prekrivne rastline so ena izmed možnosti omejevanja rasti plevelov v posevkih. Rezultate rasti in razvoja plevelov smo primerjali z obravnavanjem brez podseva in glavne rastline (KON). Obravnavanji I in G učinkovito zavirata rast plevelov do razvojne faze oljnih buč BBCH 700.

Title:Effect of cover crops on growth of weeds in oil pumpkins (Cucurbita pepo l. convar, citrullina (l) greb. var. styriaca greb.)
Abstract:Cover crops are one of the possible treatment against weeds in crop production. Field trial was with different winter hard cover crops and oil pumpkin as main crop was established in 2015. The aim wasanalysed the effect of different cover crops in integrated production (IPL) system on growth of weeds on the field covered with oil pumpkin plants. Cover crops which included in the experiment were: barley (J), crimson clover (I), sweet pea (G) and white clover (BD). Cover crops were rolled (with Roller Crimper) in May, before oil pumpkin sowing, than, except white clover (BD) which was sown 21 days after pumpkin sowing. Growth and developmentof weeds were compared with experimental plot without any cover crop (KON). The results showed that cover crops (PR) have significant effect on reduction of weed growth and yield of oil pumpkins. Barley (J) as a cover crop is the most efficienty reduced crop for weeds, but at the same time shows also significant reduction of oil pumpkin yield. Plots I and G are sucessfully reduce the weeds till 700 BBCH growth stage of oil pumpkins. Intensive grow of weeds on plots I and G in later growth stages shows significant reduction of oil pumpkin yield in comparison to systems IPL and BD which results with significantly highest yield; (IPL 979,4 kg ha-1 and BD 925,0 kg ha1). We can conclude that barley, crimson clover and sweet pea as cover crops are most efficient in reduction of weeds in oil pumpkin production.
